Museum Revenue Partners specializes in growing earned income for arts organizations.
About Museum Revenue Partners
Museum Revenue Partners is North America’s leading cultural commerce consultancy. We are experts in museum retail planning and store design, hospitality services and other revenue-generating visitor amenities, as well as providers of creative services and management consulting for museums and cultural institutions. The firm provides business plans and feasibility studies for new earned income ventures, retail and food service assessments, operations analyses, audience and event program development, and best in class design for museum stores, ecommerce sites, custom products, publishing projects, and marketing campaigns. We also assist clients with product licensing and the creation of commercial partnerships.
The firm has key specialties in new museum planning and renovations, staffing and organizational assessment, sales and margin improvement, self-operated versus outsourced models for retail and café operations, omnichannel consumer strategies, retail-curatorial collaboration, exhibition revenue programs, inventory management, product sustainability, and DEI perspectives that increase cultural markets by seeking out and communicating with new arts consumers and groups.
MRP understands that arts organizations need to be financially healthy in order to best fulfill their missions, and having sustainable earned income is a critical piece of the funding challenge all institutions face. We focus on working across revenue-generating disciplines to provide exceptional visitor experiences with maximum profitability.
Museum Revenue Partners is located in Ridgewood, New Jersey, in the Greater New York City area. We serve art museums, natural history museums, historic sites and gardens, children’s museums, science centers, libraries, foundations, galleries, and government agencies. We also advise architects, developers, attorneys, and designers, and work with academic institutions and specialty retailers.
The firm is a federally certified Woman Owned Small Business by the SBA and is also WBE certified by New York City’s Small Business Services.
Our goal is to generate greater public engagement and to convert that engagement into increased revenue.
Company History
Museum Revenue Partners was founded in 2019 by Janice Yablonski Hickey in response to the changes in nonprofit support needs already apparent in the arts sector before the Covid-19 pandemic. The firm evolved from Janice’s highly-regarded consultancy, Arts & Culture Digital, launched in 2012, that brought ecommerce and digital marketing solutions to a diverse range of organizations. Today, as institutions grapple with how to balance budgets while still providing inspiration and a sense of community to their audiences, the team at MRP is more committed than ever to offering innovative, future-focused ways to manage business improvement and maximize resources.
